Courtney & Jordan's Wedding

All pictures used in this post are courtesy of Daniel James Photography So it is really beginning to look like we live at The Atherton Hotel. This week we head back for the wedding of Courtney & Jordan. It's New Year's Eve Weekend and of all the people to come down sick this week. It is AJ. AJ is the DJ/Emcee for the night and has been battling the stomach bug that has been floating around.  Tonight will be a little more scaled back than most weddings, mostly because the bride and groom wanted it that way, but also because AJ is running on fumes and barely even is aware where he is at. Once the bride and groom return from pictures with Daniel James Photography we have our grand entrance. The bridal party walks into "Forever" by Chris Brown and the Bride and Groom enter to "Happy" by Pharell Williams. Once Courtney & Jordan are seated we get to some toasts from the Best Man and Maid Of Honor.  Dinner is then served, another meal s...

Ranesha & Ryan's Wedding

Today we are heading to The United Veterans Association Of Blair County in Altoona for the Wedding Reception of Raneasha and Ryan. Mother Nature has continued her fun of raining on parades today with a steady cold rain.  After the Grand Entrance and toasts by the maid of honor and best man, we were treated to a meal by the UVA, that was out of this world. We then cut the cake to "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen. Ryan was nice enough to feed Raneasha the cake, she made him take a shot to the chin of cake. A little cake battle ensued afterwards before they got cleaned up and took center stage for their first dance as husband and wife to "For You I Will" by Monica. The bridal party was then asked to join the bride and groom for a special dance to "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO. Followed by the God Mother/Daughter Dance & Mother/Son Dance. We then opened the dance floor and paused for the garter/bouquet toss and the Mr & Mrs Game, w...

Kate & James Wedding

Photo Courtesy Of Kimberly Wright Photography Today we are traveling to The Atherton Hotel in State College for the Wedding Ceremony & Reception of Kate & James. We met these two at the 2018 Central PA Bridal Expo when they were still shopping around for DJs. We met with the again a few months later to discuss their vision and wants for their wedding. It turns out that even though it is now fall in Central PA, Mother Nature is not done with her silly little tricks. That's right! She decided this time not to rain several inches, but snow, as a matter of fact close to 12 inches of snow fell on Wednesday the 14th. This pattern needs to stop Ms. Nature.  Photo Courtesy Of Kimberly Wright Photography Anyway, it is now 3PM on the 17th, time for the ceremony! James, Judge Grine, and the rest of the bridal party walk down front and take their places to "Going The Distance" by Bill Conti. Next up is the bridal party taking their places to "C...

London & Corey's Wedding

All photos used in this post are courtesy of Lyttle Photo Company London & Corey's First Dance Hello again! This week were are on a road trip. We are heading to the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Company in Stewarstville, NJ for the wedding of London & Corey. It just also happens to be the day, a Nor Easter has decided to develop off the NJ coastline. Originally when London had contacted us it was to handle both here Ceremony and Reception, but she would soon find out that because of policy reasons the venue could not allow what she had envisioned for her ceremony. London was actually able to secure a new location in a park about 30 minutes away from the venue. Without power though, there was not anyway of us providing power for the ceremony. London said that maybe live music would be more romantic anyway, and would fit better with the setting of the park. Well as we have seen so many times this summer...Mother Nature had other plans. They were forced onc...

Nicole & Christopher's Wedding

Nicole & Christopher On The Dance Floor Today we are once again headed over the hill to Harmony Forge Inn in Bellefonte. Today is the wedding Ceremony & Reception of Christopher and Nicole, and once again Mother Nature has other plans. Nicole wanted to get married in front of the main house, but the weather was calling for, yep you guessed it, rain! They mad the call to move the ceremony into the barn. Turns out though the forecast was wrong and the sun actually shined all the way through the ceremony, minus the 30 second shower that happened just before the ceremony from an invisible cloud. We did not need to provide cocktail music for this wedding as we were treated to some very lovely music from some live string musicians. When Jana from Jana Scott Photography returned with the bridal party, we did the Grand Entrance. Before dinner and toasts Nicole & Christopher wanted to thank everyone for coming to their destination wedding (just kidding). Turns out...

Ashley & Nate's Wedding

Ashley & Nate's First Dance With Bubbles Today we traveled to our favorite little spot in Mifflinburg again. Laurel Lodge Events! This time for the Wedding Ceremony and Reception of Ashley & Nate.  We first spoke with Ashley & Nate in June of 2017, when we talked about what they were looking for from their special day, and what we could do, if anything, to enhance that. After our meeting we were asked to send the contract to them, and they signed as soon as they got it. There were not many questions from either Ashley or Nate leading up to the planning meeting. Once at the planning meeting we found out that Ashley had a Pintrest page that had starting to put together for her wedding date, even before she met Nate. Well now the pressure was on! It's 2PM now and all the guests are seated. Nate and the Groomsmen walk down front to the clearing in the woods and wait, as the Bridal party makes their way down the aisle. Then everyone rises as the music ...

Morgan & Casey's Wedding

Morgan And Casey's First Dance W/ Bubbles Today we travel to a place called DenElaine Springs Farm in Tryone. This is a barn that sits on Morgan & Casey's property, that they remolded for the purpose of their wedding, but also future events as well.  It is still Central PA and Mother Nature is still playing her evil game of lets rain for 6 days straight and then maybe some sun. We have lots of sun today and it is just the right tempeture for a fall wedding. However we now have run into an issue, everything is a swamp from under the tents to the parking area. We manage to make it work.  The recpetion is in the barn, but the ceremony is around the back of the property at a neighbors house. At 3PM the groomsmen arrive on dirt bikes to the ceremony and take their places as the bridal party and bride begin to make their way down the aisle to "I Get To Love You" by Ruelle. Once the officiant presents the new Mr & Mrs Frye they walk up the ailse to...

Angela & Mike's Wedding

Angela & Mike's First Dance Today we are heading to a new wedding venue, at a historic location. Today's wedding is at Penn's Cave! We will be christening the new enclosed pavilion with it's first wedding. The Wedding of Angela and Mike. With every new venue there are bound to be some hiccups along the way and one of the big ones was a date mix-up, forcing the couple to move the wedding to the weekend before they had actually invited everyone to. Still with the power of social media they were able to pull it off. Angela had contacted me via Facebook about her wedding and said she loved what we had to offer but she wasn't sure she could swing the investment. I explained like I always do why the prices are what they are (look for a blog on that later) and told her I would work with her on a budget. We finally were able to agree on a price that worked for both of us. Then came the planning. Angela had a love/hate relationship with our online planning...

Carol And Jacob's Wedding Ceremony

Photo Courtesy of Micah Spicer Carol had contacted us to provide just audio for her wedding ceremony only at Bald Eagle State Park. As this summer has proven Mother Nature was not playing nice again. The forecast had been for rain, then it backed off to a drizzle that was to end before the ceremony started.  Carol was set on having her ceremony at this boat launch and if she could do it she was going to do it. Instead of the rain letting up, it got a little harder, and surprisingly the call was made to keep the ceremony at the boat launch. This was a surprise to not only us, but the bride as well. You can see she was shocked we were still outside in her review below. So at 5PM the groom and groomsmen took their places and a special track that had been premixed for this occasion was given to us began as the bridal party and Carol made their way to the boat launch. After many attempts to light the unity candle in the rain and a song sung by one of the bridesma...

Todd & Paige's Wedding

Photo Courtesy Of BellaVita Photography & Editing Today we head to Harmony Forge in Bellefonte, for the Wedding Ceremony and Reception of Todd and Paige. The plan for the day was to have the ceremony in front of the house and the reception in the barn. However, as this summer would have it, the forecast was calling for rain, and the call was made to move the ceremony into the barn as well. The morning of the wedding was a little damp as it had rained the night before, but the sun was trying to peak through before it rained a little again. Upon arriving the sun was shining again. We met with Ashley of Planned Perfection who was the day of wedding coordinator. She informed us that everything was setup inside so we moved forward with the ceremony in the barn. At 3PM Todd and the groomsmen took their places at the alter as the bridal party made their way down the aisle, then Paige began making her way down the aisle to "The Harry Potter Theme Song, Hedwig's Them...

Leigh & Jared's Wedding

Leigh & Jared during their first dance. This week we are heading to State College, well Houserville if you want to get technical for the Wedding Ceremony and Reception of Leigh And Jared at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center.  There had been a threat of rain early in the week, but the forecast changed to sunny skies and what turned out to be very hot and humid. (Mother Nature still playing games in Central PA for some reason, weeks before we had close to 14 inches of rain in 3 days) Because of the heat the ceremony was sped up to get guests out of the sun and into the barn for shade. Ceremony started at 2PM with Leigh walking down the aisle to "Here Comes The Bride". Once the officiant presented the Bride and Groom as Mr & Mrs Taylor, Jared and Leigh walked back up the aisle to "How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)" by James Taylor. A family friend who was shooting the wedding took the bride, groom, bridal party, and family for pics while guests we...

This week we are on the road again and heading to the old disco club Ace's in Johnstown for the reception of Scott and Tessa.  Guests begin to arrive around 4:00 and enjoy drinks with friends and family while enjoying the ambiance of the uplighting we have set up around the room. After the Grand Entrance we are treated to a wonderful dinner by the catering staff at Ace's. After dinner Scott & Tessa take the floor to dance for the first time in front of friends and family as Mr & Mrs Plowchin to "All My Life" by K-Ci & JoJo. Scott & Tessa then enjoy the Bridal Party and their partners to join them for another dance to "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis Presley. At 11AM the Groom and Groomsmen take their spots as the bridal party makes their way down the aisle. With Melody following behind walking down the aisle to "Here Comes The Bride". Once the ceremony ends and the officiant has presented the new Mr & Mrs Haupt, the newlyweds makes their way back up the aisle to "(Say Hey) I Love You" by Michael Franeti & Spearhead.  The guests are invited to the lodge for drinks and snacks while Kaitlin from Euphoric Shutterbug takes the couple, bridal party, and family for pictures. Olivia & Caelan's Wedding

Olivia dancing with her father This week we are heading to Tyrone for a wedding at the Boy Scout Camp, better known as Camp Anderson. This week we are providing services for Olivia And Caelan's Wedding Ceremony and Reception. The Reception is being held in the Mess Hall, and the ceremony is down the road and across the little stream. For mid July the weather is pretty pleasant with sunny skies and temps in the upper 70's with very little humidity.  At 2PM the Groomsmen and Groom take their places as the bridal party starts down the aisle followed by Olivia who enters to "Here Comes The Bride". The ceremony continues with a sand pouring and as Mr And Mrs Hughes are presented the bridal party exits to "The Wedding March" At this point Kayla takes the bridal party and family for pictures while the guests are directed back to the mess hall for drinks. (Because this is a Boy Scout Camp the wedding is dry)  After the bridal party returns we ...

Amanda & Brandon's Wedding

This week we travel to southern PA for the Wedding Ceremony and Reception of Amanda & Brandon at DuCar Farms in Chambersburg.  The weather has been crazy in Central PA this summer so far. If it is not raining, it is crazy hot and this week is no exception as temperatures are pushing the upper 90s.  The reception will be in the barn and the ceremony will take place at the gazebo in front of the main house. At 3:45pm the groom and groomsmen take their places and the bridal procession starts down the aisle. Amanda then makes her way around from the back of the house and down the stairs to the sounds of The Piano Guys covering "Perfect" from Ed Sheeran.  When the officiant presents the new Mr & Mrs. Gricks, the newlyweds head back up the aisle to the sounds of The Piano Guys covering "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". Once the bridal party has made it back up the aisle, guests are invited to enjoy cocktails from Catered Cocktails downstairs while Yas...

Kendra & Matt's Wedding

Kendra & Matt dancing on the wedding cloud Today we are traveling to Jersey Shore for the wedding of Kendra & Matt. We will be inside the Rozenburg Barn for the reception and outside the front of the main house for the ceremony.  As we are setting up we are hoping that the weather holds out for an outdoor ceremony as we are set up for that already. Looking at hourly forecasts we decide to move up the start time of the ceremony by almost 20 minutes. Trying to stay ahead of the rain.  At 2:10 Kendra gets out of a waiting car to walk down the aisle to meet with a waiting Matt all to the music of Ellie Goulding's "How Long Will I Love You". Things have been sped up because of the impending rain situation, so the ceremony has been shortened a bit.  The officiant presents the new couple Mr And Mrs Harrison, and the bride and groom walk up the aisle to "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None The Richer. Daniel James takes the bridal party and family for t...

Jesse & Ashley's Wedding

Jesse, Ashley, The Bridal Party, & Guests partying! Today we are heading right down the road to Mingoville at the Nittany Country Club, for the wedding of Ashley And Jesse. Jesse contacted us after finding us on Google, and after speaking with him through a few emails we were able to strike a deal.  During our bridal consult I learned that Jesse was a musician and that the song they had chosen for their first dance was a song that he has written for Ashley, performed by him, and recorded by him back when they were in college.  Jesse's mother had passed when he was younger, so his step mother (which day of wedding we found out was our bank teller) stepped in to dance with him to a song from James Taylor that his mother would sing to him when he was younger. A touching moment for all those involved.  During the dollar dance the bride and groom decided to make it a competition to see who can raise more money. Ashley won this competition but not by much...
