Todd & Paige's Wedding

Today we head to Harmony Forge in Bellefonte, for the Wedding Ceremony and Reception of Todd and Paige. The plan for the day was to have the ceremony in front of the house and the reception in the barn. However, as this summer would have it, the forecast was calling for rain, and the call was made to move the ceremony into the barn as well.

The morning of the wedding was a little damp as it had rained the night before, but the sun was trying to peak through before it rained a little again. Upon arriving the sun was shining again. We met with Ashley of Planned Perfection who was the day of wedding coordinator. She informed us that everything was setup inside so we moved forward with the ceremony in the barn.

At 3PM Todd and the groomsmen took their places at the alter as the bridal party made their way down the aisle, then Paige began making her way down the aisle to "The Harry Potter Theme Song, Hedwig's Theme". Once the officiant presented them as Mr & Mrs Swoope, they made their way back up the aisle to "Jump In Line" by Harry Belafonte

While Kassie took the bride, groom, bridal party, and families for pictures, guests were invited to stay in the barn and enjoy drinks and snacks provided by Nittany Catering. While everyone was mingling, luck would have it that Mother Nature threw in a curve ball and made it rain again. At this time Ashley informed us that they wanted to do the Grand Entrance but then continue cocktail hour.

No problem at all! After the Grand Entrance, the bride and groom mingled with the crowd, they laughed and talked, and took pictures. We than gathered everybody up and had a speech from Todd and Paige, some toasts and then a wonderful dinner from Nittany Catering.

After dinner Todd and Paige took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife dancing to "Night Moves" by Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band. This was followed by the Father/Daughter Dance, the Mother/Son dance, and the Anniversary Dance. We opened the dance floor for a bit at this point.

So here is where the night got a little a crazy. When Todd and Paige turned in the planning forms Todd had mentioned that he wanted Paige to make him work for the garter and they was stressed again during the bridal consult. They had picked "Pony" by Ginuwine as the song that Todd was going to remove the garter to, but when it started Todd turned into Magic Mike while removing it:

The night ended with a bus coming from the hotel to pick everyone up and take them back to the hotel, while leaving to the sounds of "Scotty Doesn't Know" by Lustra.

Congratulations once again Mr & Mrs Swoope

Venue Spotlight April 28, 2019

Next week begins the full brunt of wedding season and each week we are going to spotlight the venues we visit. So if you are planning a wedding or event, keep your eyes on our blog page. On the off weekends this wedding season we will continue to spotlight some of the places we visited last year. With that said, this week let's head right down the road from us to Harmony Forge in Bellefonte, PA. We were here for 2 weddings last year. In August we helped Todd and Paige get married and in October we were here for Nicole & Christopher's Wedding.  How about a little history! The Harmony Forge property dates back to the 1790s. It is the site of the Harmony Forge/Milesburg Iron Works that was built after the Revolutionary War. There is no definitive date to when the mansion was built, but can be dated to somewhere between 1796 and 1820.  The iron works no longer exist but the mansion does, and the property has seen many different reincarnations over the year,

Bellefonte Area High School Class Of 1998 Reunion

Saturday Night we had the pleasure of Djing the 20th Reunion of the Bellefonte Are High School Class of 1998. (It's actually 21 but....shhhhh!) The Nittany Country Club put out a wonderful dinner spread and we redid the slide show they had put together years ago, and added a few highlights from the 10 year reunion. It's always fun to catch up with people you have not seen in years.  Here is the slide show we redid: Talk to us today about your class reunion!
