Kendra & Matt's Wedding

Kendra & Matt dancing on the wedding cloud

Today we are traveling to Jersey Shore for the wedding of Kendra & Matt. We will be inside the Rozenburg Barn for the reception and outside the front of the main house for the ceremony.

As we are setting up we are hoping that the weather holds out for an outdoor ceremony as we are set up for that already. Looking at hourly forecasts we decide to move up the start time of the ceremony by almost 20 minutes. Trying to stay ahead of the rain.

At 2:10 Kendra gets out of a waiting car to walk down the aisle to meet with a waiting Matt all to the music of Ellie Goulding's "How Long Will I Love You". Things have been sped up because of the impending rain situation, so the ceremony has been shortened a bit.

The officiant presents the new couple Mr And Mrs Harrison, and the bride and groom walk up the aisle to "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None The Richer. Daniel James takes the bridal party and family for the pictures before it starts to rain, while everyone else moves to this beautiful old tobacco barn for the reception and drinks with Catherine from Drinks By Design.

Once dinner is over the bride and groom take to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife on The Wedding Cloud to "White Lightening" by The Cadallic Three. When meeting with Kendra during our bridal consult I asked her why this song, because admittedly I had never heard it. She explained that when she met Matt she was so head over heels in love with him that it was like white lightening and the song seemed fitting.

While playing the Mr & Mrs Game we learned that Kendra would be more likely to end up in jail, but also raised more money during the dollar dance. At the end of the night they danced to "Beautiful Crazy" by Luke Combs, and we closed the night with "Closing Time" by Semisonic.

On a side note: the rain we were racing, never came!

Congratulations once again Mr & Mrs Harrison.

Venue Spotlight April 14, 2019

This week's venue spotlight takes us to Millbrook Marsh & Nature Center. We were here in August for the wedding of Leigh and Jared. Just like last week's venue they offer several outdoor locations for your ceremony and the reception can be held in the barn.  Take a look at some of the areas outside to hold your reception and or ceremony. The Millbrook Marsh Nature Center occupies about 60 acres of the Millbrook Marsh, lowlands along  along Spring Creek and Slab Cabin Creek   If you are still looking for a venue for your wedding, take a look at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center's  website or Facebook Page or call  (814) 235-7819

Venue Spotlight April 28, 2019

Next week begins the full brunt of wedding season and each week we are going to spotlight the venues we visit. So if you are planning a wedding or event, keep your eyes on our blog page. On the off weekends this wedding season we will continue to spotlight some of the places we visited last year. With that said, this week let's head right down the road from us to Harmony Forge in Bellefonte, PA. We were here for 2 weddings last year. In August we helped Todd and Paige get married and in October we were here for Nicole & Christopher's Wedding.  How about a little history! The Harmony Forge property dates back to the 1790s. It is the site of the Harmony Forge/Milesburg Iron Works that was built after the Revolutionary War. There is no definitive date to when the mansion was built, but can be dated to somewhere between 1796 and 1820.  The iron works no longer exist but the mansion does, and the property has seen many different reincarnations over the year,

Bellefonte Area High School Class Of 1998 Reunion

Saturday Night we had the pleasure of Djing the 20th Reunion of the Bellefonte Are High School Class of 1998. (It's actually 21 but....shhhhh!) The Nittany Country Club put out a wonderful dinner spread and we redid the slide show they had put together years ago, and added a few highlights from the 10 year reunion. It's always fun to catch up with people you have not seen in years.  Here is the slide show we redid: Talk to us today about your class reunion!
