Emily & Kenny's Wedding

It was our first wedding of the season, and we had to do a little traveling for this one. We are on our way to the Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Stewartstown, PA. Which for those of you not familiar with where that is. We are about 4 miles from the Maryland border.

We are handling both the ceremony and reception today. We arrive around 9:30AM to set up for the reception which is being held in the country club and the ceremony which is across the road from the clubhouse on the golf course.

At 11AM the families begin to take their seats as we watch Emily walk down the aisle to a waiting Kenny who has the biggest smile on his face. Kenny and Emily each look into each others eyes while reciting the vows they wrote for each other. When Emily's brother who officiated her wedding, presents the new Mr. & Mrs Leicht, they walk up the aisle to The Beatles "All You Need Is Love"

Once pictures are done we line the bridal party up on the front porch and get them ready for the Grand Entrance. As they enter the building for the first time as husband and wife they are walking through a cloud of bubbles that makes all the kids happy, including the bride and groom.

Once dinner is over our happy couple danced for the first time as husband and wife to the song "Yours" by Russell Dickerson, followed by the father/daughter dance and the mother/son dance and a song for the whole bridal party.

We played the Mr And Mrs Game, which led to us finding out that Emily would be the most likely to end up in jail.

As all things must come to an end we wrapped up the night with a final dance for Emily and Kenny as they swayed to "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton and then we sent everyone home with "Bye Bye Bye" from N'Sync.

Congratulations once again to Emily And Kenny Leicht!

Venue Spotlight April 14, 2019

This week's venue spotlight takes us to Millbrook Marsh & Nature Center. We were here in August for the wedding of Leigh and Jared. Just like last week's venue they offer several outdoor locations for your ceremony and the reception can be held in the barn.  Take a look at some of the areas outside to hold your reception and or ceremony. The Millbrook Marsh Nature Center occupies about 60 acres of the Millbrook Marsh, lowlands along  along Spring Creek and Slab Cabin Creek   If you are still looking for a venue for your wedding, take a look at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center's  website or Facebook Page or call  (814) 235-7819

Louise & Evan's Wedding

This week we are headed to Laurel Mountain Winery in Falls Creek, PA, for the wedding of Louise and Evan. This couple has actually been married since December of 2016, but had issues with getting friends and family together for the reception until now. We were set up inside a pavilion that overlooked the vines for the winery. The cocktail hour music was provided by a local artist who played guitar and sang for the cocktail hour. This was a laid back event so the bride and groom mingled during the cocktail hour. Towards the end of the cocktail hour we lined up the bridal party and did a grand entrance and then ate dinner which was provided by some of the guests, who brought their own recipes. After dinner Louise and Evan took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife...Something that they had waited over a year to do. For the first time friends and family watched them dance to Ed Sheeran and Beyonce's "Perfect". We then partied later into the ...

Leslie & Mike's Wedding

All photos used in this post are courtesy of NixPix Photography Today we are heading to Laurel Rock Farms in Mifflintown for the Wedding Ceremony and Reception of Mike & Leslie. AJ actually went to school with Leslie so was honored when he was asked to DJ their wedding. Upon arriving it was an unusually warm day for October. The ceremony was to have been outside but with blazing sunshine and temperatures already near 90 degrees, Leslie made the call to move the ceremony indoors.  At 2PM, Mike and the groomsmen took their places down front as the Bridal Party made their way down the aisle. Then all the guests rose as Leslie made her way down the aisle to an instrumental version of "Marry Me" by Train. After the officiant presented the new Mr & Mrs Carter they walked back up the aisle to an instrumental version of "Beautiful Day" by U2. After a short receiving line, the bride, groom, bridal party, and families were taken for pictures by Nikkie...
