Brittany & Andrew's Wedding

(All Photos On This Blog Post Are Courtesy Of Rosetta Photos)

This week we are heading to the Legion in Pleasant Gap, for the wedding reception of Brittany and Andrew. Brittany and AJ have actually known each other since he was in radio. So when he saw that she was getting married he reached out to her. On a side note AJ could not be happier for Brittany, she found the man that makes happy every day. I mean just look at those smiles.

So this reception got off to a rocky start. Beginning with the weather forecast on Wednesday! There was lots of talk about a major snowstorm hitting this area Sunday into Monday. At one point the National Weather Service had us in a Winter Storm Watch. While everyone as the ceremony, the storm changed track and we were downgraded to a Winter Weather Advisory.

So Saturday rolls in and Andrew and Brittany officially become husband and wife. Only thing is they did that about an hour earlier than they had expected to be done. So not only were the guests showing up way earlier than we had anticipated, the bride and groom were also an hour earlier than anticipated. These things happen though and you roll with it.

After checking on dinner and finding out we still needed at least 45 minutes we decided to do the grand entrance and then let the bride and groom mingle during the cocktail hour. After the cocktail hour was over and before the start of dinner Brittany and Andrew took to the dance floor to dance for the first time as husband and wife to Ed Sheeran and Andrea Bocelli's "Perfect Symphany".

The Best Man and Maid Of Honor then toasted the bride and groom and the groom's father delivered the blessing before we were treated to a very tasty mean from the staff at the BJC who happen to also be friends of the bride and groom.

After dinner we made our way to the cake. Where Andrew was nice and fed his piece to Brittany, she got a little on his nose. We then moved on to the parent dances where Brittany and her dad danced to Alison Krauss "When You Say Nothing At All". Andrew and his mom danced to "You'll Be In My Heart" from Phil Collins.

During the Mr And Mrs Game we discovered the Andrew not only uses all the hot water, he also spends the most time getting ready in the morning, while Brittany is the one who will always ask directions and has a better taste in music. This was followed by an awkward Garter/Bouquet Toss.

We then opened the dance floor for guests to get their groove on for the the rest of the night before Brittany and Andrew took to the dance floor one last time as husband and wife to finish out the night with "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane. We then send goodnight to the guests, congratulated the bride and groom and sent everyone home to the sounds of the Clash and "Should I Stay Or Should I Go"

Oh by the way we ended up getting just around 2 inches of snow from the massive snow storm :)

Congratulations again to Brittany and Andrew and thanks for letting us be part of your special day.

Venue Spotlight April 14, 2019

This week's venue spotlight takes us to Millbrook Marsh & Nature Center. We were here in August for the wedding of Leigh and Jared. Just like last week's venue they offer several outdoor locations for your ceremony and the reception can be held in the barn.  Take a look at some of the areas outside to hold your reception and or ceremony. The Millbrook Marsh Nature Center occupies about 60 acres of the Millbrook Marsh, lowlands along  along Spring Creek and Slab Cabin Creek   If you are still looking for a venue for your wedding, take a look at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center's  website or Facebook Page or call  (814) 235-7819

Angela & Mike's Wedding

Angela & Mike's First Dance Today we are heading to a new wedding venue, at a historic location. Today's wedding is at Penn's Cave! We will be christening the new enclosed pavilion with it's first wedding. The Wedding of Angela and Mike. With every new venue there are bound to be some hiccups along the way and one of the big ones was a date mix-up, forcing the couple to move the wedding to the weekend before they had actually invited everyone to. Still with the power of social media they were able to pull it off. Angela had contacted me via Facebook about her wedding and said she loved what we had to offer but she wasn't sure she could swing the investment. I explained like I always do why the prices are what they are (look for a blog on that later) and told her I would work with her on a budget. We finally were able to agree on a price that worked for both of us. Then came the planning. Angela had a love/hate relationship with our online planning

Venue Spotlight April 28, 2019

Next week begins the full brunt of wedding season and each week we are going to spotlight the venues we visit. So if you are planning a wedding or event, keep your eyes on our blog page. On the off weekends this wedding season we will continue to spotlight some of the places we visited last year. With that said, this week let's head right down the road from us to Harmony Forge in Bellefonte, PA. We were here for 2 weddings last year. In August we helped Todd and Paige get married and in October we were here for Nicole & Christopher's Wedding.  How about a little history! The Harmony Forge property dates back to the 1790s. It is the site of the Harmony Forge/Milesburg Iron Works that was built after the Revolutionary War. There is no definitive date to when the mansion was built, but can be dated to somewhere between 1796 and 1820.  The iron works no longer exist but the mansion does, and the property has seen many different reincarnations over the year,
