Ashley & Nate's Wedding

Ashley & Nate's First Dance With Bubbles

Today we traveled to our favorite little spot in Mifflinburg again. Laurel Lodge Events! This time for the Wedding Ceremony and Reception of Ashley & Nate.

We first spoke with Ashley & Nate in June of 2017, when we talked about what they were looking for from their special day, and what we could do, if anything, to enhance that. After our meeting we were asked to send the contract to them, and they signed as soon as they got it.

There were not many questions from either Ashley or Nate leading up to the planning meeting. Once at the planning meeting we found out that Ashley had a Pintrest page that had starting to put together for her wedding date, even before she met Nate. Well now the pressure was on!

It's 2PM now and all the guests are seated. Nate and the Groomsmen walk down front to the clearing in the woods and wait, as the Bridal party makes their way down the aisle. Then everyone rises as the music switches to Ruelle's "I Get To Love You". Once they are presented as the new Mr & Mrs Goff they walk back up the aisle to Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros "Home".

Today's photographer is Stephanie with SWP Photography our of Buffalo, NY. Stephanie and Ashley went to college together and Ashley wanted no one else to shoot her wedding. Stephanie takes the Bride, Groom, Bridal Party, and families for pictures, while the guests are encouraged to return to the lodge for drinks and snacks.

After the Grand Enrance we have some toasts from the Maid Of Honor & Best Man and then begin serving dinner catered by Real Taste Food Truck. After dinner and the cake cutting the Bride & Groom take to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. The bubbles come and Ashley & Nate dance to "Then" by Brad Paisley. Followed by the father/daughter and mother/son dances. We then open the dance floor.

After some dancing and partying we bring Ashley & Nate to the center of the dance floor for the Mr & Mrs Game. where we find out that Nate is a better driver, but more likely to get lost. While Ashley has the better sense of style. We also played the Guess Who game where Nate was able to identify Ashley by the feel or her hand a total of 0 times!

When 9PM rolls around it is time to wrap up the night with "Closing Time" from Semisonic.

Congratulations again to Mr & Mrs Goff!

Louise & Evan's Wedding

This week we are headed to Laurel Mountain Winery in Falls Creek, PA, for the wedding of Louise and Evan. This couple has actually been married since December of 2016, but had issues with getting friends and family together for the reception until now. We were set up inside a pavilion that overlooked the vines for the winery. The cocktail hour music was provided by a local artist who played guitar and sang for the cocktail hour. This was a laid back event so the bride and groom mingled during the cocktail hour. Towards the end of the cocktail hour we lined up the bridal party and did a grand entrance and then ate dinner which was provided by some of the guests, who brought their own recipes. After dinner Louise and Evan took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife...Something that they had waited over a year to do. For the first time friends and family watched them dance to Ed Sheeran and Beyonce's "Perfect". We then partied later into the ...

Leslie & Mike's Wedding

All photos used in this post are courtesy of NixPix Photography Today we are heading to Laurel Rock Farms in Mifflintown for the Wedding Ceremony and Reception of Mike & Leslie. AJ actually went to school with Leslie so was honored when he was asked to DJ their wedding. Upon arriving it was an unusually warm day for October. The ceremony was to have been outside but with blazing sunshine and temperatures already near 90 degrees, Leslie made the call to move the ceremony indoors.  At 2PM, Mike and the groomsmen took their places down front as the Bridal Party made their way down the aisle. Then all the guests rose as Leslie made her way down the aisle to an instrumental version of "Marry Me" by Train. After the officiant presented the new Mr & Mrs Carter they walked back up the aisle to an instrumental version of "Beautiful Day" by U2. After a short receiving line, the bride, groom, bridal party, and families were taken for pictures by Nikkie...

Venue Spotlight April 7, 2019

We are almost into the full brunt of wedding season and each week we are going to spotlight the venues we visit. So if you are planning a wedding or event, keep your eyes on our blog page. Until wedding season begins we want to spotlight some of the places we visited last year. This week we head to Tiadaghton Farm in Jersey Shore, PA. Tiadaghton Farm 707 River Road Jersey Shore, PA 17740 http://tiadaghtonfarm.com/ This is a very interesting site. There is plenty of space to park cars and more than one area to hold your ceremony if you wish to do so.  The property has been family owned since the 1940's and  The barn was in built in the 1950’s and for six decades served as a tobacco barn. The barn was renovated and became  Tiadaghton Farm Wedding Venue in 2015, and has quickly become  the best choice for rustic and elegant weddings in the area. For more information about Tiadaghton Farm visit their website or Facebook pa...
